I Guess They Were on the 'Nice List' Afterall!

Santa Claus is coming to town...
'Twas the night before Christmas...
Avah and Kael in their Christmas PJs all ready for bed.

"He brought me Spike... I really was a good boy!"

Avah playing with her doll house.

Kael and Daddy checking out the cookies. Santa only took one bite out of each but Kael finished them off when we weren't looking. We saw Santa the Saturday after Christmas and he said he prefers snickerdoodles so if anyone has a good recipe...

Avah showing Daddy her house.

Kael playing with Spike. He is afraid of him when he moves so that is why he is on the coffee table. He doesn't use the remote much but does sit and chat with him daily. On the other hand...

Avah isn't the least bit afraid!

Christmas With the Weiners

On Christmas Eve we headed to Great Grandma and Grandpa Weiner's house for an 'Ugly Sweater' Christmas. It was a good time and always seems to go by too fast!

An 'Ugly' Family Picture
(My appologies to anyone who actually wore any of the sweaters posted this year!)

Maggie and Avah watching from above... This was Avah favorite view! She even watched the sweater contest from up here and then came down and walked through once it was over. She didn't understand why no one clapped for her. :(

Dick and Mollie in matching sweaters.

The winner... way to go NICK!

The contestants... Lauren not included.

We had another snow day the Monday before Christmas so I thought I'd go down to the crawl space and see what I could find for the kids to wear... well... this vest was about 2 sizes too small for Kael but I thought I'd try it on him anyway... He asked me what it was for and I told him the ugly sweater christmas and he said... "It's not ugwy, it's gweat!" He said he needed a Santa hat to go with it and I told him we didn't have one so he got his cy stocking hat and asked, "Will this work, Mom?" Then a little later he came out of his room with the blue long john's on... He loved it so much he had to put it back on after his bath and cried the next day when I wouldn't let him wear it again! What a fashionista!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from two very scary dinosaurs!

Fall Leaves

Lovin' the Leaves
We headed outside to enjoy the nice fall weather. Kael played in the leaves and found a bird's nest at the bottom of our tree. He had to tell me all about it... how it got there and where the baby birds are now. It was pretty comical and surprisingly accurate!

Happy Birthday Peyton!
We loaded up two little dinosaurs (they can even fly!) and headed a mile south for Peyton's 3rd birthday party!

Sis-a-saurus
Flying DinosaurPeyton and Kael on the top bunk.

Opening his present.

I think they were trying to decide what to name their band.
The DinosARRs!

Kael giving Peyton a few pointers while he checks out another gift.

Olivia with her feather pumpkin.

Jayce and Paige alerting our attention to Avah...

as she climbs to the top bunk all by herself!
Recovering
Sucking mac-n-cheese off the bar... not going to tell you what happened next... :(

Minor Surgery
Kael has had multiple problems with runny noses, breathing, speaking and sleeping so after a consult with the ENT doc Dr. Lee we found he needed to have both his tonsils and adenoids removed. So on October 10th we headed to Same Day Surgery bright and early for the procedure. Thankfully Kael was very calm throughout the entire process. It was a slow recovery but nearly two weeks later he is doing very well!

Posing for a pic in his hospital scrubs. They took us back to a little room filled with toys. The anesthesiologist came in to explain to Kael that they were going to put a mask on him and needed him to breathe very hard into the mask to blow up a yellow balloon. They let us walk him down the hall and how sad it was to see him go through those doors! About 20 minutes later we were talking to Dr. Lee about how well things went... very large tonsils and adenoids!

Sitting on Mommy's lap just after surgery. The nurse said Kael was a great patient! Most kids sleep for a few hours after surgery but she said she wheeled him in the recovery room and he just looked up at her with his big brown eyes. We actually had to wait for the meds to be brought over from the pharmacy before we could leave.

Still able to suck his thumb, bandages, IV and all!

Sitting on Daddy's lap... back in his pj's and getting ready to go. Daddy found an extra 'button' on Kael that needed removing before we could leave.

Hanging out back home on the couch with his Where's Waldo book from Grandma.
He never did take a nap.... at all that day or the following 4 days!
